Who is involved in the business?

The world of fermentation is fascinating, with endless possibilities of flavours and textures.

Fermentation is what occurs when sugars convert to acids or alcohols, through the action of yeast and beneficial bacteria, transforming fresh produce into a delicious sharp, sour condiment. By eating a variety of live fermented foods, you encourage diversity among microbial cultures in your body, which may assist in immune development and the processing of nutrients in your gut. Enjoy a side tablespoon of sauerkraut with eggs, various meats, fish, soup, a lunch wrap or any savoury dish, once discovered you will never go back.

What products do you make?

We always have something on the bubble, it may be Sauerkraut, Kombucha, Fermented Chilli Jams, Ginger Bugs or Kefir. No ferment batch is ever the same, the beneficial communities in each jar are always different from the last, providing good gut stuff just for you.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Great Lakes Food Trail?

I love the sense of community the trail brings and being connected with other people that are deeply passionate about what they do. I also really enjoy seeing the vibrancy the trail brings to the region and how much visitors and locals enjoy visiting the producers and connecting directly with farmers.
